33-Lonely Oak

I always like a big old tree in the middle of an open field. I saw one the other day that had no leaves on it, just a circle of bright colors all around the trunk. That tree inspired this drawing. Drawn in pen and colored in marker (yes my kids crayola markers :) I like the complexity of the tree's branches but the simplicity of the image overall. While drawing this I was reminded of a drawing I did in first grade. I think it was to go along with a story about squirrels. I had some lollipop like trees started and my mom asked me if that is what trees really looked like...... I don't think I ever really drew a lollipop tree again.
